At New York Comic Con this weekend Warner Bros. announced that they were moving forward with plans to release a remastered version of their classic animated series Batman: The Animated Series on Blu-ray in 2018. Not many details are known but the announcement came as the company’s public relations executive Gary Miereanu was handing out a free copy of the DVD box set.
The biggest question as of now will be whether or not the Blu-ray will follow the release strategy of coming out in volumes or as the entire series. I personally can’t wait. The original animated series was a staple of my Saturday mornings and shaped so much of my childhood and things that I grew to love that I’ll gladly pay the money for this, although I’d prefer the complete series version.
