Soon, it’ll be Bandai Namco Entertainment
Bandai Namco Games is changing its name to reflect the broader scope of operations that the company intends to move its focus to in the near future. Come April 1, 2015 (the start of the new fiscal year), it’ll become Bandai Namco Entertainment.
The decision for a new name was announced today in an investors’ report, after it was voted on by the board of directors. Through the admittedly shaky translation of Google, it seems as if the change comes from a desire to expand into new products and services, especially given the evolution of technology.
Bandai Namco appears to have a medium-term plan in place that will begin in April that aims to grow and expand business without confining the company solely to videogames. That plan hasn’t been released to investors yet, but it likely will at the end of this quarter.
