Back Moon Hunters for an interesting take on the action-RPG

And then grab your friends to play it, too

Moon Hunters is a 1-4 player action RPG and is one of the first games to have joined the Square Enix Collective series of games, with an 83% approval rating. It’s also a gorgeous-looking title that might very well be worth delving into with friends.

Local co-op is fully supported, but the schtick here is that you’ll be “creating legends” together, which means after you head out with your crew to annihilate enemies together, your heroes will become a constellation in the sky, depending on the kind of player you were. Each world is different every time you play, with the one constant of your constellation appearing in the sky, which is actually an interesting sticking point. I’m curious to see how that works out.

Kitfox Games describes Moon Hunters as “Legend of Zelda meets Castle Crashers” or “King of Dragon Pass meets Gauntlet,” but we’ll have to wait to see if the game reaches its funding goal of $45,000 to pass judgment for a planned summer 2015 release on PC and Mac.
