Awesome Games Done Quick reveals games list for 2021 event

It’s that time of year again

Awesome Games Done Quick is getting set for its 2021 iteration. The organizer of the annual speedrunning marathon has released a tentative games list for the event, revealing over 150 titles from the pantheon of gaming – all being played in efforts to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

The AGDQ 2021 schedule includes a huge list of great titles, old and new. In attendance will be GDQ mainstays from The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros. and Metroid series, alongside games making their GDQ debut. These include Supergiant’s Hades, WayForward’s River City Girls, and Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2. Also on deck are a selection of fun and unique retro titles such as Mr. Bones, Snow White: Happily Ever After, and Rollergames.

As was the case with summer’s SGDQ 2020 event, AGDQ 2021 will be an online affair, keeping all runners and staff safe and socially-distanced in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The week-long event is expected to feature giveaways and competitions, alongside hours upon hours of awesome gaming action. All runs will be broadcast live over on the official GDQ Twitch channel.

The proceeds raised by generous viewers will be directly donated to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, with which GDQ has long been a benefactor. Earlier this year, AGDQ 2020 raised a record-breaking $3.1 million for the cause, so here’s to hoping the 2021 event will be every bit as successful.

AGDQ 2021 takes place January 3-10. You can check out more details on the GDQ website.
