I wish I had a dad like Joseph Phillips. The 28-year-old visited his 9-year-old son at his ex-wife’s house, and when her back was turned, he stole the boy’s games and consoles, then legged it down the road to sell them for a tenth of the price. Classy!
Phillips was later arrested at the mother’s house on misdemeanor theft charges. The ex valued the stolen items at $1,070. This champion among men didn’t just cut his losses there, however. He is now facing another arrest after failing to show up to his court hearing. He’s also been arrested three times between 2006 and 2009 for drug-related chicanery.
Man, stealing from a child. Your own child, no less. He is a true American hero.
