AT&T announces data plans for the PS Vita

Just one day before the 2012 International Consumer Electrontics Show kicks off, and Sony has let loose a nice little piece of information for all of you eager PS Vita followers in the United States.

From the official PlayStation twitter account, AT&T has just announced that it will have data plans available for both the 3G and Wi-Fi versions of the PS Vita. Only two plans have been revealed so far: a $14.99 data plan for 250MB or a $24.99 data plan for 2GB. The interesting thing about these plans is that both will not require the customer to sign up to any contract with AT&T.

I’m sure that Sony and AT&T will be providing more information during CES about these new data plans, but being capped at only 250MB for $14.99 sounds like a rip off, unless you only plan to play LittleBigPlanet on the train ride to and from work. Still, with no contracts to be tied down to, this still sounds like a tempting offer, especially for those PS Vita gamers who looking for just the single player experience.
