Atlus bringing crazy 2D fighter Aquapazza to PS3

A dream match made in heaven

The email I received from Atlus today pretty much asks the perfect question: “Have you ever dropped a bookcase on someone in a fighting game?” Uh… well that would be a wholehearted no, but I have a feeling that answer might be changing soon.

Adding another title to its ever-growing repertoire of fighting games, Atlus is set to release the Examu-developed Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Slated for “Holiday 2013,” according to the game’s site, the 2D fighter is getting a retail release in addition the PSN treatment. Both editions will sell for $29.99 and have online play.

I’ve had my eye’s on Aquapazza ever since my friend from Japan Charlie decided to rub his latest purchase in my face. In screens, and in video, the game looks all kinds of bat-shit crazy and that’s the type of fighting game I love.

Now the only question I have left is: If the game does well, will Atlus bring another certain Aquaplus title over to North America? Specifically, Tears to Tiara II? I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
