Atari announces Dungeons & Dragons game for XBLA, PSN, PC

Atari continues its push into the digital download space next year with Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale, which the publisher announced today for Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network, and PC.

Daggerdale will be an action role-playing game experience, featuring both single-player and cooperative gameplay for up to four players. Based on the trailer, the game looks to pack a fair amount of real time action of the hack-and-slash variety. And skeletons… lots of them.

Story wise, for you D&D fans, know that you’ll be teaming up to destroy the nasty Rezlus and his vile Zhentarim. I don’t know what any of that is, but places called Nentir Vale, Mines of Tethyamar, and the Tower of the Void are also involved.

Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale is out spring 2011.
