Taking precautions
Almost four weeks after PS4 and Xbox One players have been zipping and stabbing around Victorian London, PC users will finally get their chance with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Until then, they have to lurk in the shadows, waiting for their opportunity to strike.
Ubisoft announced today that the PC version is being pushed back a little bit. Syndicate releases on October 23 on consoles, but not until November 19 on PC. According to Sam Kovalev of the Kiev team, this is so that “PC players get the most stable, optimized version of the game on day one.” The team insists that everything’s coming along as planned, but that this delay is to be extra extra sure nothing goes wrong.
On the technical side of things, Ubisoft mentioned that there won’t be a lock on Syndicate‘s framerate or resolution. Crank those up as high as you want. However, the game’s required and recommended specs (which aren’t finalized yet) will be based on 1080p and 30 frame-per-second.
In light of last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity blunder, it’s probably in Ubisoft’s best interest to take the “better safe than sorry” approach. Assuming everything works this time, PC players will have a much less aggravating experience, even if it comes a little bit later.
