Army of Two gameplay footage emerges

Army of Two

is one of the only EA games that I’ve actually ever anticipated for any length of time, but it has to be said that thus far, evidence of gameplay has been thin on the ground, while we’ve been fed pretty pictures and premises in its place. With this video, however, a lot more’s been made available for us to sink our teeth into and to be honest with you … it doesn’t quite sweep me off my feet.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited for the game and one would assume this is merely early footage, but it doesn’t look as action packed or inspired as I would fancy. I also sincerely hope that playable characters shed that rather spectral translucency that seems abundant throughout the trailer. We’re in the new generation, nothing should ever be translucent, ever, unless they are scaresome ghosties. Or jellybabies imbued with life. The bustling bags of testosterone that feature in Army of Two are neither, so more solidity, please. With any luck, this game will look a lot better a lot sooner, because I’ve been eagerly awaiting this one.
