Arkham Asylum publisher totally cool with its delay

How quickly we forget — Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum was originally supposed to be released in June. When we found out that it was being delayed, we cried. The game was eventually released on August 25; that’s like, two whole months!

Gamers might have been a bit worked up about it, but the game’s publishers, Eidos and Warner Bros., were cool as cucumbers. Rocksteady’s Sefton Hill told Kotaku that the publishers were fine with the extra time. Hill says the reason was “confidence in the game” and the ability to show that the additional development time was “well spent.”

Well, apparently it was — Batman: Arkham Asylum turned out pretty damned good. So no rush on the sequel, Rocksteady; take some extra time. We’ve got plenty of other games in to play in 2010.
