ARK: Survival Ascended The Island Resource Map

A Resource Map for The Island.

ARK: Survival Ascended is here, and gathering resources has never been more fun now that the survival game is in Unreal Engine 5. Of course, one of the challenging parts of ARK: Survival Ascended is knowing where to find the resources you need. We’ve put together an ARK: Survival Ascended Resource Map so you can find all the resources on the island.

All ARK: Survival Ascended Resources on The Island

Here are all the different resources that are available to be found on The Island map in ARK: Survival Ascended:

  • Crystal
  • Metal
  • Obsidian
  • Oil
  • Rich Metal
  • Silica Pearls

While some are more rare than others, thankfully, all of these resources can be found on The Island if you know where to look. That is where this resource map comes in handy.

How to find every resource in ARK: Survival Ascended via our Island Resource Map

As you can see, the map above is the entire map of The Island from ARK: Survival Ascended. We’ve highlighted all the main resources you will need while building your base in ARK: Survival Ascended. Of course, Metal and Rich Metal are always required. Even the bulk of tools, weapons, and items will require these two. But, Oil, Crystal, Obsidian, and Silica Pearls will also become necessary as well.

Crystal

In ARK: Survival Ascended, Crystal is mostly found in and around volcanoes/mountain peaks as well as in the northern icy regions. The central Volcano in ARK: Survival Ascended has pretty much every main resource, including Crystal. However, even in the early easier regions, you can find a few deposits of Crystal located on the southern area of The Island.

Metal

Metal can be found all over The Island, however, you will find it mostly in mountains rocky regions. If you look at the ARK: Survival Ascended Resource Map above, you can also find it to the north in the icy regions. Mostly though, it’s found around the core mountainous regions, and the rocky cliffsides in the southern easier areas.

Obsidian

Obsidian is mostly found in the northern icy region. You can also find some deposits scattered around the central volcano areas of The Island. However, you will mostly farm this resource in the north.

Oil

When it comes to Oil, you’ll find it on land only in the northern icy regions. However, you can also find it underwater pretty much all around The Island. If you look at the map above, you’ll see Oil is found in pretty much every direction in the water.

Rich Metal

You can find Rich Metal pretty much everywhere you find standard Metal. As is the case with most of these resources, you’ll mostly find it in rocky mountainous areas.

Silica Pearls

Silica Pearls can be found underwater pretty much anywhere in the ocean on The Island. It cannot be found underwater in inland bodies of water like creeks, streams, and lakes. It’s found mostly in the west, south, and east, though it can also be found in the north above the icy region.

Important Creatures

There are several important creatures you can track down on The Island as well. Here are where you can find them:

Doedicurus

First up is the Doedicurus. The tanky beast is about as formidable as they come. Anyone looking to make use of its high defenses and health pool will want to tame one. In order to find the Doedicurus, you’re going to want to look around the volcano in the middle as well as the mountainous areas on the northern half of The Island. Here’s our full guide on where to find and tame a Doedicurus.

Beaver Dams

Another important entity on The Island are Giant Beaver Dams. They can be a great opportunity to farm Cementing Paste and Silica Pearls, so it’s important to know where you can find them. They are primarily found around the stream/river areas located around the middle equator of The Island. Here is our full guide on where to find and how to raid Beaver Dams.

Spawn Points

In ARK: Survival Ascended, there are spawn points all along the shoreline pretty much surrounding The Island. If you were to draw a perimeter around the outer coastline, it would circumnavigate the entire island except for the northern icy region. Of course, when you first start you will only have the lower spawn points unlocked which is also along the shoreline.

Scorched Earth and Aberration Resource Maps

Even though Studio Wildcard has confirmed that all DLC will be included in ARK: Survival Ascended, the DLC maps have not yet been added to the game. However, The Island only has a few major differences between the original ARK: Survival Evolved version of the map. Assuming this will be the same outcome for the DLC maps, we should be able to add their resource maps very quickly once they are released. Here is the order we anticipate the DLC maps to release:

  • Scorched Earth
  • Aberration
  • Extinction
  • Valguero
  • Ragnarok
  • Crystal Isles
  • The Center
  • Lost Island
  • Fjordur
  • Genesis
  • Genesis 2

If you use the ARK: Survival Ascended Resource Map above you should be able to find every resource you need to succeed in ARK.
