Ares!: Play a demo of God of War: Betrayal now

For those of you who have dreamt of holding Kratos in the palm of your hand (in a non-sexual way, of course), the mobile game, God of War: Betrayal, sounds like a dream come true. The adventures of ol’ angry baldy on the go — on line at the DMV, waiting on hold with Verizon’s customer service, while on the toilet — the possibilities know no bounds.

However, unless you’re a Verizon Wireless subscriber, you’re out of luck. And if you think all mobile games that aren’t Tetris are total crap, you might be a bit hesitant to take the plunge.

So it’s a good thing there’s a playable demo of the game available. The playable Java game will give you five minutes to spend with mini-Kratos, giving you a reasonably good idea of what you’d be shelling out cash for (a $7.99 purchase or a $3.99 monthly rental).

The short demo plays rather well for a mobile title, but without (Kratos voice actor) T.C. Carson yelling “Ares!,” I’m not sure how committed I can be to this title.
