Ar tonelica Qoga announced for 2011, stripper magic too

Last night, NIS announced that they will be publishing Namco Bandai’s Ar tonelica Qoga. This is a pretty big deal for fans of niche JRPGs, and it looks like there is some interesting new directions taken to mix things up. According to NIS, the title will no longer be a turn-based affair, but rather, it takes on a sort of fusion between real-time and turn-based action. Even more, music will play a big role in this game, as players will be tasked with performing attacks to the rhythm of the music.

Do this well enough, and the “humanoid females” will throw their clothes off and perform magic attacks for massive damage. That’s right, apparently the less clothes ladies wear, the more they bring on the hurt. Par for the course with Japanese RPGS, I suppose. Anyway, we’ve been promised all sorts of customization and modification, as well as a clean and modern usage of cel-shading to get the stylized look. Launching in 2011 for the PS3, we have a while to wait before we can get some hands-on time with the title, but check out the screenshots below.
