Mac users who want to be able to download all of their programs in one, neat place can look forward to January 6. That’s the day the Mac App Store will launch, Apple has revealed today.
Okay, so what does this have to do with games, you ask? The store is expected to be broken down into major categories including education, graphics and design, lifestyle, productivity, utilities, and — you guessed it — games.
Much like the App Store for iOS, developers will be able to set their own prices for applications, keeping 70 percent of the sales revenue. Sounds like an attractive alternative for indie developers to me, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the store next year to see what crops up.
