Apple takes down stolen game following Internet uproar

Recommended Videos

Recently we posted about The Blocks Cometh, a Flash game that was stolen and ported to the iPhone without the developer’s permission. Apple seemed to do nothing about it, so Destructoid kicked up a stink, which was then noticed and echoed by the folk at Reddit. And guess what … it actually worked!

“The shitstorm cometh on the internet and someone at apple caught wind of it. The Blocks Cometh is no longer in the app store,” says Halfbot’s Derek Laufman. “Now I still haven’t heard anything from Apple on the matter so it’s hard to say if this is a permanent take down or just a temp one while they do their legal process. Anyways it’s definitely a victory in our book!”

Derek extended his thanks to the Destructoid community and everybody else who raised awareness about the IP theft. It seems that stomping your feet and kicking up a fuss actually works sometimes and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Good things happened and gamers helped make it so! Great stuff!
