Animales de la Muerte esta muerto para WiiWare?

Recommended Videos

I’m posting this for two reasons. For one, I totally forgot about Animals de la Muerte. Seeing this post over on GoNintendo reminded me of its existence, and I’m happy for that. Secondly, I think it’s worth noting the sad trend for announced WiiWare titles to see the cancellation, potential cancellation, or worse, to be forgotten about entirely.

On the topic of Animals de la Muerte (the once WiiWare exclusive now slated for release on XBLA, PSN and Steam), and on WiiWare in general, High Voltage’s Eric Nosfsinger has this to say-

It could very well be for WiiWare, as well. We did some WiiWare stuff (Gyrostarr, High Voltage Hot Rod Show) and it did okay. We didn’t lose money on any of that. But I would say it wasn’t encouraging enough that we would be doing a ton of stuff [on WiiWare].

Despite the fact that the Wii has outsold the PS3 and 360 but such a large margin, it’s commonplace to hear 3rd parties to state that they feel WiiWare isn’t working for them. It’s just another example of how Nintendo has both won and lost this console generation, and that bums me out. Why do you think it’s so common for 3rd party developers to voice disappointment in WiiWare, and how do you think that could change?

Animales de la Muerte still alive…probably not coming to WiiWare [GoNintendo]
