Nintendo’s fan-favorite social sim Animal Crossing: New Horizons is getting geared up to celebrate its first Holiday season. As y’all know by now, the citizens of Nook Islands like to go all-in when it comes to seasonal activities, and the upcoming Christm- erm… “Toy Day” is no exception.

While some of you might have already noticed a wintry atmosphere and festive decorations appearing around your custom island, the coming weeks will see the holiday spirit ramp up, with the addition of new critters, holiday-themed items, clothing, and decorations, and new DIY recipes for the big day’s feast. On December 24, be sure to look out for “Jingle the Black-Nosed Reindeer”, who will arrive requiring your help to deliver a sackful of gifts to the locals. Delightful.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has brought joy and spirit to many seasonal events – such as Halloween and Thanksgiving – during a difficult year where many were unable to celebrate with family and friends in the traditional sense. To see it round out 2020 with Toy Day and the inevitable New Year’s Eve countdown will be a happy occasion indeed.
