It looks like our guess from a few days ago was correct.

A few days ago we came across Amazon’s listing of Xbox 360’s for $329.99, which was $20 cheaper than the recently announced price cut. As these were not listed in any special way, we guessed that Amazon wanted to clear out the non-HDMI models of the console to make way for the new ones.

The listing is now back at the normal price of $349.99, and Amazon says that only 3 are left in stock. Mission accomplished?

Amazon now has a new listing titled “Xbox 360 Console Includes 20GB Hard Drive (with HDMI).” This item is listed a a price of $349.99, its release date is listed as August 8th, 2007, and the contents in the description also list HDMI as a feature. This is very convenient for those who wish to purchase the new model in preparation for the fall/holiday gaming season.

Actually, if you order now, you can have it delivered in time for Madden ’08.
