Game Informer’s Meagan Marie has decided to part ways with an epic collectible: a Mario Kart edition Nintendo DS signed by Shigeru Miyamoto, Koji Kondo, Charles Martinet, Eiji Aonuma, and Martin Leung.

The item is being sold on eBay, with the final sale price going completely to the Red Cross for relief in Japan following last week’s earthquake.

“Ultimately, my memories are more than enough to hang on to and if I can raise a donation of any size to aid the people of Japan, it is unquestionably worth it,” she writes of having to let go of the rare DS.

One day into bidding and six days remaining (as of this writing), and it’s already up to $1,225.00.
