All Resources in Build an Island – How to Get Them

Wondering how to get Bamboo, Bricks, or Clay in Roblox Build an Island? Some of them are prerequisites for others like you needing Bricks to unlock Bamboo. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered and I’ll guide you through the process of getting all resources in Build an Island that you need for progression.

How to Get Planks in Build an Island

Besides Wood and Stone, Planks are the first and easiest item you’ll go for via the Sawmill by upgrading the path from spawn as in the picture. The Sawmill takes 3 Wood for 1 Plank and if you have tons of Wood you can craft it faster without going back to the station. I recommend spreading upgrades to the left and top of the sawmill from spawn to get the Workers station so you can hire Lumberjacks ASAP for even more Planks.

How to Get Coins Fast in Build an Island

The three fastest ways to get Coins fast is by doing the following:

1. Check out our Build an Island Codes for free Coins.
2. Progress straight ahead from the first Gold Mine to unlock the Upgradesmen station. There’s a sign to the right of the station that will give you 1000 Coins if you click on it as long as you like and favorite the game and join the community group. That said, I don’t recommend spending Coins at the Upgradesmen in the early game as the effects are minor and expensive. This is for when you’re generating a lot of Coins fast later.
3. You can get easy Coins by buying Seeds and selling Crops (chance for Gold Crops for more Coins), crafting in the Furniture Workshop top-right from the Sawmill and selling chairs, and buying Coal Crates to put in the Gold Mine for Coins. Keep repeating this loop for the fastest Coin gain early to mid game.

How to Get Seeds and Crops in Build an Island

You get Seeds by buying them from the Merchant for Coins. You can get your first few Coins for Seeds either through our Build an Island Codes or by waiting for gold trees and stone to spawn. Once you have Seeds, you can quickly unlock the first garden by spreading to the right of the spawn. Place down the Seeds and wait for the % to fill up and once it does you can harvest and sell the crops. How to Get Bricks in Build an Island

You get Bricks through the Stonecutter station which you can unlock by progressing right from the Sawmill and then to the left of the Gold Mine. You’ll need Wood, Stone, Planks, and Coins for this upgrade path so make sure you’re following our fast Coins guide above. I highly recommend unlocking the Workers station first in front of the Sawmill for a Miner worker to generate Stone easier and have plenty for Bricks. Once you unlock the Stonecutter you can get 1 Brick for 3 Stone.

How to Get Bamboo in Build an Island

Before Bamboo you’ll need Bricks first so check that guide above first if you don’t have them. Once you have Bricks you want to head to the left of the Sawmill to progress to Upgrade Axe station and forward from that until you see an island expansion requiring Bricks. This one unlocks the first Bamboo tree harvest segment. You can also configure lumberjacks in the Workers station to collect Bamboo for you.

How to Get Bamboo Planks in Build an Island

As soon as you unlock the Bamboo segment, you can immediatly use them to unlock the one to the right for the Bamboo Sawmill. This station makes 1 Bamboo Plank for 5 Bamboo. You’ll need plenty of them to unlock the island segments around the Bamboo Sawmill.

How to Get Bees and Honey in Build an Island

Here’s how to get Bees and Honey so that you can start selling it for Coins:

• To the top-left of the Sawmill or bottom-left of the Worker station, you can unlock a segment for beehives. You can build up to three for 30 Planks each but I recommend just starting with one.
• Buy a Bee from the Merchant for 120 Coins or 79 Robux.
• Place the Bee in the beehive and wait for her to gather enough pollen from flowers to make 1 Honey which you can collect at the back of the beehive and sell for 40 gold. You can add a few Bees to one beehive for faster honey or add 1 Bee to each Beehive for a slower production rate of 3 Honey while you do other tasks.

How to Get Growth Potion in Build an Island

Besides buying the Growth Potion from the Merchant you can actually craft it for faster harvesting and Coin gain. You have to have the Bamboo Planks Sawmill station first so check that guide above first if you don’t. From there you want to keep expand behind the Bamboo Sawmill then down the wooden stairs to the left and then back behind the Sawmill on the lower level for 100 Bricks, 100 Coins, and 100 Bamboo Planks. This segment unlocks the Growth Potion station where you can craft a Growth Potion for 100 Bamboo Planks and 9 Tomatoes. You can buy Tomato Seeds from the Merchant and plant them to farm Tomatoes.

How to Get Iron Ore in Build an Island

For Iron Ore you need to unlock Bamboo first so follow that guide above if you haven’t already. Iron Ore is located on the expansion segment to the left of the Stonecutter and Gold Mine. You’ll need Bamboo and Coins for it mainly. You’ll get three Iron Ore deposits right away and can unlock more by expanding from there. I recommend reassigning one Miner to mine Iron Ore.

How to Get Iron Bar in Build an Island

You get the Iron Bars by processing Iron Ore at the Furnace which is unlocked by expanding down from the the first three Iron Ore deposits. Then, expand again to the right to unlock the Furnace. You’ll need 5 Wood and 10 Iron Ore for 1 Iron Bar.

How to Get Tools in Build an Island

You need Iron Bars to get Tools so follow our guide above for those if you don’t have them or follow the progression in the picture. This unlocks the Toolsmith station. You can get 1 Tool for 20 Iron Bars and 65 Bricks. You can then sell Tools for 75 Coins a piece.

How to Get Cactus in Build an Island

For Cactus you first need to unlock Iron Ore which we guide you through above. Once you do, you get Cactus in Build an Island by expanding to the left of the Upgradesmen. Once you farm a few Cactus plants, you can then expand to the Cactus Loom.

How to Get Cactus Fiber in Build an Island

The Cactus Fiber is unlocked through the Cactus Loom station shortly after reaching Cactus for the first time. Just expand to the left of the first Cactus field, and right, then left again as in the picture. You get 1 Cactus Loom from 5 Cacti.

How to Get Magmatic Crystal and Magmite in Build an Island

Before you get Magmatic Crystal and Magmite you’ll need Cactus Fiber to unlock the island expansion so check out our guide above. Once you have it, just unlock the second expansion to the left of Toolsmith that requires Cactus Fiber, Iron Bars and Gold mainly. This will open up the first Magmatic Crystal deposits. Just expand a step beyond that to unlock the Magmite station where you can trade 5 Magmatic Crystals and 3 Iron Bars for 1 Magmite.

How to Get Magma Log and Magma Plank in Build an Island

Getting Magma Logs is a longer expansion path since you have to go from the first Cactus place around the island and back to behind the Magmite station as in the two pictures above. You’ll need plenty of Magmite and Cactus Looms so set at least 2 of your Miners to mine Iron and at least 2 Lumberjacks to cut down Cactus. Follow the progression path and you’ll reach the first Magma Log tree. Continue progressing forward two expansions to reach the Magma Sawmill where you can refine 9 Magma Logs into a Magma Plank.
