Blizzard have announced that, from today, players can pick up a beautiful new skin for Overwatch’s iconic healer Mercy, with all of the proceeds being donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). The skin is available until May 21 and costs $14.99.

In a new video, Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan explains how they wish to help the BCRF bring hope to the thousands around the world who are diagnosed with the disease. “We’ve decided to partner with Breast Cancer Research Foundation to try to make a difference,” says Kaplan. “We know how motivated an inspirational the gaming community can be, and we would love to see you join in this effort.”

Along with the Mercy skin, a new shirt is also available on the Blizzard store, designed by artist vickisigh and priced at $30, $15 of which will go to the charity. Fundraising live-streams are planned for the near future, which will feature the opportunity to unlock unique in-game items, all benefiting the cause.

The BCRF, founded in 1993, are a non-profit organisation committed to the curing of breast cancer. The money raised by the foundation is used to advance research into treatment, as well as providing awareness programs to help educate the public about the disease. If you’d like to learn more about the foundation and its goals, or if you wish to donate directly to their cause, then you can do so by visiting their official website.

The Pink Mercy skin and shirt are available to purchase from now until May 21. Blizzard will disclose the amount raised at the end of the campaign.
