How to start Arena battles in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

Before we get into the ranks, it’s a good idea to know where to start. You can begin your Arena journey at the Imperial City Arena, where Hundolin waits outside the entrance. Head left to enter the Arena Bloodworks and speak with Owyn to register as a combatant. You’re required to equip a Battle Raiment, either light or heavy, when beginning the match. It’s up to you to choose which one you want based on your distinct playstyle.

Speak to Owyn again to begin your first match. The Arena will only be available from 9am to 9pm, so check your map to ensure you’re in a suitable time slot. Once ready, step through the Arena doors and wait for the gates to open to embark on the fight. Besides the Battle Raiment requirement, it’s crucial not to loot any bodies, as this action is strictly forbidden.

If you survived the showdown, visit Owyn to claim your rewards. You can also heal and clean yourself at the Basin of Renewal, next to the doors to the Arena.

How to unlock all Arena ranks in The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remastered

You’ll begin at the bottom as a Pit Dog and fight your way toward the top tier of the Arena. Your rank increases every three victories, similar to the original Oblivion. As you rise, the battles become more intense and enemies more unpredictable. You’ll face a mix of combat styles, from archers at a distance to relentless melee fighters with swords and axes. Here is a breakdown of every Arena rank in Oblivion Remastered:

• Bloodletter
• Myrmidon
• Warrior
• Gladiator
• Hero
• Champion
• Grand Champion

While most Arena ranks help you earn gold and level up, the Grand Champion title stands above the rest. It’s the only rank that rewards you with more than just coins, granting you the Adoring Fan to fuel your ego and the Raiment of Valor armor, significantly boosting your defense. However, to earn this title and its rewards, you must defeat the Gray Prince, a robust Half-Orc. He’s known to be “unbeatable,” holding the title of Grand Champion for almost a decade. Hopefully, by the time you face him, you’ll have sharpened your skills enough to stand your ground and give him a run for his money.
