All new achievements for Stardew Valley 1.6 and how to get them

Perfection takes effort

With the implementation of the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley, there are nine new achievements to earn. While they may not be complicated, that doesn’t mean they’re not easy.

There have always been a lot of achievements in Stardew Valley, rewarding you for everything from donating items to the Museum to reaching Perfection in your playthrough. Now, there’s even more. Here’s how to get them.

Stardew Valley 1.6 achievements

Well-Read – Read every book

Books can be found at random in chests throughout the world, whether they’re fished up from the waters around Pelican Town or within Skull Cavern, or otherwise purchased from the Bookseller

Two Thumbs Up – See a movie

This one is pretty self explanatory and not difficult at all to get. To watch a movie, simply head to the Movie Theatre, buy a ticket outside, and then head inside to watch the show

Blue Ribbon – Get 1st place in the Stardew Valley Fair competition

This one is a little harder to achieve because there are a few steps involved in winning the Fair competition. You’ll need to get at least 90 points in the competition, which can achieved by having a full display of particularly high quality goods.

An Unforgettable Soup – Delight the Governor

This one involves making the “best soup ever” at the Luau. To do this, you need to put something of either Gold or Iridium quality into the soup. Some good options are:

  • Beer
  • Purple Mushroom
  • Red Cabbage
  • Melon

Good Neighbors – Help your Forest neighbors grow their family

To do this, you’ll need to first unlock the Raccoon in the big tree, and then help him to expand his family by finding a wife. Good news, the Raccoon wife sells all of the following new seeds:

  • Carrot
  • Summer Squash
  • Powdermelon
  • Broccoli

A Distant Shore – Reach Ginger Island

While not for something new, this is a new achievement. To reach Ginger Island, you need to first repair the Community Center (or complete the Joja storyline by buying all the upgrades), then unlock the boat behind Willy’s Fish Shop. You can then spend 1,000 Gold on a boat ticket to Ginger Island.

Danger In The Deep – Reach the bottom of the ‘dangerous’ mines

You unlock ‘dangerous’ mines by completing one of Mr Qi’s special orders (found on Ginger Island), in which he asks you to reach the bottom within 7 days of picking up the order. The one you need to complete shares its name with this achievement.

Infinite Power – Obtain the most powerful weapon

To get this achievement, you’ll need to get your hands on the Infinity Blade. To do this, you’ll need to combine the following items in the Forge within the Volcano Dungeon:

  • Galaxy Sword
  • 3 Galaxy Souls
  • 60 Cinder Shards

Perfection – Reach the Summit

To get Perfection, you essentially need to complete 100% of the game. This includes getting every other achievement. This is a tall order, but it’s not impossible.

The 1.6 update did add the Perfection Bypass system, which can be accessed after receiving a letter in the mail from Fizz, who you can go to meet in a cave on Ginger Island. However, bypassing perfection does come at a price, so this route should only be used in a pinch.
