Spells might be your go-to option when defeating your opponents in the indie hit Mage Arena, but crafting recipes to produce different items will allow you to outwit them more easily.
Crafting in Mage Arena works in the expected way: you gather raw resources, which can then be put into different recipes to produce more items. Let’s look at all the recipes available in the game’s current build, and how to make them in the first place.
All Mage Arena crafting resources
The current build has seven different recipes. Six of them are relatively simple to complete, as long as you have the correct requirements.
| Item | Recipe | How to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Frog Balloon | Frog + Frog | Equip this balloon to lower your weight, which will allow you to jump higher in turn without having to worry about fall damage. |
| Sentry Turrent | Stone + Crystal | Create an turret that fires on its own whenever an enemy comes close to it. Extremely useful for locking and holding onto a particular area of the map. |
| Shield | Wood + Stone | Generates a shield that can block damage from incoming projectiles. Susceptible against spells that have higher damage potential. |
| Spike Trap | Wood + Crystal | Place a hidden trap on the ground that can spike an enemy and deal damage if someone is foolish enough to step on it. |
| Spore Frog | Frog + Mushroom | Great escape option, as the frog will generate clouds of spores that temporarily restricts vision in a small area on the map. |
| Walking Stick | Wood + Wood | Use this tool to temporarily buff your movement speed. |
Five resource materials are available all around the map. As mentioned in the table above, all recipes require the use of these items in different combinations.
- Crystal
- Frog
- Mushroom
- Stone
- Wood
All five resources can be found on the island, but you’ll need to explore a bit to obtain them. Check out all the nooks and crannies to avoid misses so as not to fall on them.
You might have been trying to find the seventh recipe missing from the table above. The seventh one allows you to craft the legendary Excalibur (which is also part of its quest).

How to craft Excalibur in Mage Arena
The legendary Excalibur is much harder to make than the items mentioned in the above section. The recipe involves the use of the following two items:
- Hilt
- Broken blade
These are two parts that combine to form the sword. Unfortunately for players, you can’t craft these items. Instead, you’ll need to look for them in the Graveyard. A note of caution: this area has monsters that are extremely difficult to beat. Make sure to unlock as many spells as possible to have more options (without worrying about the cooldowns).
