Hunting the Aether Current locations in Final Fantasy XIV remains a notoriously tedious task throughout the Main Scenario Questlines, and they’re the biggest obstacle standing between you and flying. FFXIV adds Aether Currents to new zones in every expansion since Heavensward, but we’ve got tips and handy map resources to help you along.

Heavensward Aether Current Locations

You’ll begin attuning for flight in Heavensward, Version 3.0 of FFXIV, and stuck just hoofing it until you’re done. There are four Aether Currents hidden throughout the field in every map, with another five locked behind MSQ or sidequest progression. The Aether Current locations span five Heavensward areas, including Coerthas Western Highlands, The Dravanian Forelands, Sea of Clouds, Churning Mists, and The Dravanian Hinterlands.
