The Crimson Eye event is a community experience, so the entire Phasmophobia playerbase must work together to progress through it. There’s a personal goal section too, which tracks your own contributions to the event, but for the most part, the focus is on the community tackling three main goals.

Phasmophobia Crimson Eye objectives

There are three key objectives you must complete to contribute progress in the Crimson Eye event:

  • Identify ghosts correctly.
  • Complete optional objectives.
  • Interact with Totems you find.

Identify ghosts correctly

The first goal is one you’re likely very familiar with, which is simply to correctly identify ghosts. This is the main objective of every Phasmophobia contract, so you should already have a decent understanding of how to tackle it.

If identifying the ghost is something you struggle with, it’s best to focus on capturing all three key pieces of evidence to ensure you’re right. While there are many unofficial behaviors and clues you can watch out for, evidence is the only guaranteed way to ensure you catch the right ghost. Every ghost has three types of evidence you can identify.

Complete optional objectives

The second key event goal is to complete optional objectives. In each contract, you’re given three random side tasks to tackle. These quests are never mandatory, but finishing them does get you some bonus cash and XP. In the case of the Crimson Eye event, tackling these missions also contributes to event progress.

You can find your optional objectives on the board hanging up between the truck cameras and the sanity monitor. They’re pinned near the bottom of the board, right below a picture of the map you chose.

Some optional objectives are quite easy, like cleansing the area near the ghost with Incense, while others can be a lot more difficult to get done, like having a member of your team witness a ghost event. Try your best to finish these quests as often as possible to help contribute event points.

Interact with Totems

The last objective you need to work on is interacting with all the Totems you come across. This is the trickiest task to get done since it’s the only one that’s special to the event. Totems are floating red Blood Moons that hover over black pedestals. They can only be found around the daily event maps.

When you come across one, walk up to it and select the “Interact” button. This button varies by platform, so if you’re not sure what the right control is for you, open up your Journal, click Options, select the Controls page, and locate the button next to the word “Interact.”

As soon as you interact with a Totem, it will disappear, granting you some event points. There are generally around three to six Totems present on each map, so be sure to scour every inch of the location to make sure you don’t miss one.
