Evil Attorney General Michael Atkinson may have claimed that Australian gamers don’t “need” to impale people with Xenomorph tails, but it seems that they’re going to get to do it anyway. In a stunning move, Sega has actually managed to win its appeal and overturn the decision to ban Aliens vs. Predator in Australia.

AvP will get the country’s MA15+ rating, the highest rating a game in Australia can attain. Furthermore, it will get that 15 age rating with NO edits made to the content. Predator decapitation, first-person secondary jaw attacks, and plenty of impalement are on offer, and Australians will get all the blood-soaked glory.

Great, and surprising, news. This game will likely be far more gory than the still-banned unedited version of Left 4 Dead 2, yet it somehow got through. Perhaps a signal that change is in the air?

Suck it down, Atkinson!
