How to complete Aether Extractor contract in MW3 Zombies

Let's blow up some extractors.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode, there are a lot of very difficult contracts you can accept while on the ground in Urzikstan. Among them is the Aether Extractor contract, where you need to pick off a legion of mercenaries while also disabling a trifecta of — you guessed it — aether extractors.

It’s made more difficult if you have residual undead coming into the area because then you’ll not only have to deal with mercs, but also with zombies. So, before you accept the mission, make sure you’re not being followed. It’s already a painful contract; why make it more painful?

Let’s go over how to complete the Aether Extractor contract so you can reap the rewards and get one step closer to the endgame.

Completing an Aether Extractor contract

To start, it’s worth mentioning that players will need to complete an Aether Extractor contract as part of the Act 1, Tier 3 story mission entitled “Saboteur,” as well as kill 15 mercenaries while doing so. You can find an Aether Extractor contract on your Tacmap by looking for an icon of a vertical rocket. Ping it, then head for the spot alongside your teammates — you’ll want their help if you want to survive this gauntlet.

At its core, this mission is somewhat simple: The contract will be considered complete as soon as three extractors (the large rockets you can probably see as you approach the mission area) are disabled. It should be mentioned that disabling them takes a bit longer than other actions, so you’ll need to make sure you have good cover if you’re to be uninterrupted while disabling the extractors.

But, as soon as you’re able to flee, take off running because the extractor will explode momentarily. Do this two more times and you’ll have yourself a completed contract.

In my experience, this contract is one of the most chaotic, second to the Outlast contract. I say this because when you’re surrounded by human enemies and things are exploding around you, there’s a good chance you’ll end up knocked out more than once. It’s for that reason I recommend always going into one of these contracts with at least one other ally. If you don’t, you’ll probably be on a one-way, speeding train straight into the afterlife.

If you manage to complete this contract, you’ll be able to take advantage of a Reward Rift, which might contain that schematic or consumable perk you’ve been desperately hunting for!
