Adventure game Tengami brings pop-up art to life

Recommended Videos

Tengami is one of those games that relies heavily on its art style in capturing players’ interest initially and is perhaps better seen than described. Thankfully, a trailer for this adventure game has just been released, so you can judge for yourself and I don’t have to come up with adjectives that have been overused.

Nominated for the IndieCade 2012 awards, Tengami is being developed by a small independent studio called Nyamyam that’s made up of ex-Rare staff. We’ve seen games use pop-up books as inspiration before, such as the Paper Mario series, but this implementation looks to better reflect real life.

It sounds as if iPad will see the first release next year — check out some screenshots in the gallery below — followed by PC and Mac versions at a later date. I’ll be keeping an eye on this.
