Adam Savage is building a Starfield spaceship model

It's a work in progress.

Starfield excitement has reached an all-time high, and the game’s shown itself in a number of unexpected places, including London’s trains. Some have taken their love of Starfield to surprising heights, including Mythbusters‘ Adam Savage who has a YouTube series tracking his creation of an impressive model of the Frontier spaceship Bethesda has showcased.

He teamed up with Bethesda Game Studios to build this model, allowing it to be shockingly detailed and accurate. The YouTube series isn’t done yet, so you’ll have to wait a little longer to see the final product.

The complex spaceship-making process

Crafting a model of the Frontier is a time-consuming task, though it’s been made slightly easier by the fact that the spaceship is modular. This makes things a tad simpler for Savage and his team, as it means they can make the individual components separately before bringing them all together.

Creating all the parts takes a lot of 3D printing, metalwork, and painting. For added realism, the spaceship’s also being kitted out with electronics, including lights and adorably small working monitors. A little more crafting and wiring is left before all the components are assembled and the spacecraft is complete. After that’s done, the team plans on filming the spaceship.

Watching the construction process is quite calming, and it’s impressive to see the model get closer to the amazing Frontier spacecraft we’ve seen so often in trailers. Savage’s team aren’t the only ones caught up in the Starfield hype. TEMPUR has created a one-of-a-kind chair designed to make you feel like you’re in a spaceship cockpit.
