Activision’s Wappy Dog videogame pet detailed

Recommended Videos

Activision is formally announcing their collaboration with Sega Toys, called Wappy Dog. We’ve heard a bit about it before, but now we have the full details on this terribly named robo mutt.

Wappy is a virtual pet that is controlled with a Nintendo DS. You can raise the pet in either the virtual or real world, teach it tricks, dress it up, talk to it, and even kick it. Commands are given through the DS. Wappy responds both virtually, by wagging its tail among other tricks, and physically, with vocal barks and movements. You can even put the dog in travel mode, letting you leave the physical one at home and just take the DS one.

The physical dog’s cheeks change color to reflect its mood. This thing sings and dances and understands conversational prompts. GOTY?

Activision says that Wappy Dog is coming this holiday season.
