The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has new sponsorship from the makers of Guitar Hero. How fitting!
“Where there’s music, there’s Guitar Hero, and there are countless Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees who’ve appeared in Guitar Hero” said Dusty Welch, publishing head at Activision. “We are absolutely thrilled by the opportunity to offer visitors a chance to live out their fantasies by playing tracks from the artists they are paying homage to.”
Activision is sponsoring an exhibit at the Clevland, Ohio museum on legendary guitarists like Johnny Cash, Kurt Cobain, Jerry Garcia, Robbie Robertson. And, as you’ve already guessed, a Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo stand will be there to rock out on.
The press release also says that this sponsorship extends to the 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held on March 10 in New York City.
“We’re incredibly excited about this partnership,” said Steve Dobo, Director of Sponsorships for the Rock Hall. “Activision’s support not only helps us tell the guitar chapter of the rock and roll story, but it also gives our visitors a chance to step onto the virtual stage and kick out some jams while they’re here.”
You’d think Rock Band, with its MTV ties, would’ve called this one first.
