Activision, continuing its apparent plan to become the new Electronic Arts, has revealed its sordid scheme to provide twice the amount of Guitar Hero games currently on the market by 2010, effectively tripling the franchise’s installments in two years.

It would appear that Activision plans to follow the example set by Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, so it’s likely that the new games will be further band-specific titles. CEO Bobby Kotick claims that the The ‘Smith has enjoyed more success off the back of Guitar Hero than from any of its albums.

“[Their] version of Guitar Hero generated far more in revenues than any Aerosmith album ever has,” he explained. “Merchandising, concert sales, [and] their ability to sign a new contract [have] all been unbelievably influenced by their participation in Guitar Hero.”

Well then, let the saturation commence!
