Activision exec talks Skylanders SuperChargers for Wii, amiibo strategy

The Wii version is now a side experience

FamilyGamerTV channel had a chance to catch up with Activision exec Josh Taub, and get a quick rundown on what to expect later this year with the Nintendo editions of Skylanders SuperChargers. For starters, the Wii edition is described as a “complimentary” experience (much how the 3DS versions have been in the past), and will be a completely different racing game of some sort.

They also spoke to Vicarious Vision CEO Karthik Bala, who stated that you couldn’t buy the Bowser and Donkey Kong Skylanders amiibo separately, because “families often have both the Wii U and 3DS.” Um, that’s not really a good answer, dude. In other more hopeful news, Bala noted that rather than try to design the vehicles to have every toy fit in them, they decided to go for a gameplay benefit, and give every character the ability to pilot them — which is great for those of you who already have piles of toys ready to go.

I don’t know what to think of SuperChargers yet. I started to feel the burn with Trap Team last year, but thankfully the core action gameplay is still really good. We’ll see.
