A Zelda: Breath of the Wild no amiibo run will close out Awesome Games Done Quick

The event runs from January 7-14

Zelda: Breath of the Wild practically opened up a great year of video games. I mean looking back we did have Gravity Rush 2, Resident Evil 7, Nioh, and several others dropping before it, but it felt like people finally started to realize just how great 2017 was when Zelda hit in March.

Its year-long popularity has been cemented by countless fanart pieces, bits of DLC and amiibo to keep it relevant, and now, the coveted final spot in the Awesome Games Done Quick lineup. As per the schedule, on Saturday January 13 at 10:55 PM, speedrunner atz will be running Breath of the Wild, completing all main quests with no amiibo support. In essence, that translates to a roughly four hour run.

It should make for a great closer! Once again, AGDQ will run from January 7-14, and will be held in Herndon, Virginia, at the Hilton Washington Dulles (as it has been since 2015). If you want to attend and already registered you can still book the overflow hotel — Holiday Inn Dulles Airport. That is, if you already have a badge, because the event is sold out.
