PlayStation had quite the day yesterday with all of its indie announcements. Earlier this morning they revealed a new supplemental section for the PlayStation Store to better highlight indie projects. Shortly after that they announced three new indie titles!

First up is CounterSpy (working title), which is coming to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and mobile platforms by way of Dynamighty. The game is described as an action side-scroller that has you infiltrate, sabotage, and strike at two opposing super powers in the middle of an arms race threatening humanity.

Next we have Hohokum, planned for the PS4, PS3, and Vita. The Sony Santa Monica project sees players taking on the role of a flying, technicolor, worm kite creature thing. Hohokum is trying to avoid conventional gameplay mechanics and is instead aiming to be “a playground” where you “lose yourself” in the experience.

Last but not least is Doki-Doki Universe for the PS4, PS3, and Vita. It’s being made by Greg Johnson, otherwise known as the creator of Toejam and Earl. It will be available as a free download in a limited capacity where you can explore the world they’ve created. But if you want to actually interact with the characters and the story you’ll then have to purchase the game.

As for what it will be about, it’s described as a RPG/simulation/interactive story that has you playing as a robot abandoned by his human family. To add to the matter, a green hot-dog looking thing named Alien Jeff informs you that you’re an obsolete model due to you not having enough humanity. You then have to travel the universe on a pig, or whale, or poo (whatever you want apparently) and interact with all sorts of life so Alien Jeff can determine just how much humanity you have.

Yup. Totally sold on Doki-Doki Universe. Visit all the links above to get more info on each of these new upcoming titles.

Also technically Sony announced FOUR new indies today, the fourth being Rymdkapsel: Minimalist Space Strategy and You, which we covered in another post.
