A sci-fi submarine roguelike? Neptune, Have Mercy!

Damn, this looks cool

Neptune, Have Mercy has a lot going for it. This is an “action exploration roguelike” set not in a fantasy world full of dungeons, but underwater on Neptune’s largest moon. Players control a customizable submarine with a claw arm and plenty of firepower to take on alien creatures.

And, my goodness, what a sensational aesthetic. The developers describe the Kickstarter project as a blend of things I adore — “games like Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, and FTL : Faster Than Light, and films like John Carpenter’s The Thing and James Cameron’s The Abyss.”

All that and it also has creature scanning. Hell yes. I’m wrapping up a full-completion run of Metroid Prime, and let me tell you: scanning is so on my mind right now. The Kickstarter for Neptune is more than a third of the way to reaching its modest funding goal with 19 days left.
