A new Mortal Kombat is in development, apparently

Warner Bros. producer casually mentions new title

Nothing against Injustice: Gods Among Us, but it sure would be nice to see NetherRealm Studios back on another Mortal Kombat game before long. Mortal Kombat Legacy producer Lance Sloane had this to say about the upcoming feature film and where a new game — which is apparently happening, no big deal — would fit in:

“Well, we’ve been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we’ve got a great script,” he told GamerHub.TV. “And we’ve got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board. It’s just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they’re working on now. It’s not 100% yet, but we’re getting closer every day.”

Mortal Kombat 9 only made it to PC this month, so I’ll try to be patient. I can’t believe I’m about to say this but, more than anything, it’s probably the story that I most want to see continued.
