A new MMORPG from Square Enix that’s not Final Fantasy

It seems that Square Enix is planning an additional massively multiplayer online RPG, and one source says that it will launch sometime this year, and run alongside Final Fantasy XIV.

Japanese blog Hachima Kiko says that Square Enix has heavily invested in this new large scale MMO, and that they plan to operate 2-3 MMORPGs simultaneously.  There’s no other information on the game, but if it’s supposed to launch this fiscal year, we should hear something soon.

Maybe Square Enix wants to try to get the MMO thing right by testing the waters outside the Final Fantasy world. It’s worth a try, I suppose.
