A great looking indie title named Gateways is out today from developer Smudged Cat Games. You may recognize Smudged Cat as the developer of The Adventures of Shuggy, an underlooked game that a number of us here at Destructoid happen to enjoy.
While it may seem like a 2D Portal clone at first, the game quickly gets much more complicated than that. Just watch the above trailer to see what I mean, especially around the 1:40 mark.
You can buy the game now for $10 off the team’s website (or try the free demo from the same location), but Smudged Cat notes that the game will be coming to the Xbox Live Indie channel later this year, in case you’re not keen on PC gaming.
Some early previews have noted that the game is incredibly challenging, and I think it looks kind of like Commander Keen. So basically I’m sold. What about you?
