A new glimpse of the upcoming Nier sequel

Just a little tease

We still don’t know all that much about the new Nier project. Even after speaking with creative leads Taro Yoko and Yosuke Saito at E3 this year, an experience I likened to pulling teeth, we were given only a vague idea of what exactly the development team at Platinum Games is cooking up.

That still largely remains a mystery, but the studio has shared a new piece of concept art for the upcoming action role-playing game, showing “a young boy [staring] out over a dilapidated city.”

Square Enix promised more information on the title sometime this autumn, but until then I can’t help but get a little worked up over every little morsel of Nier-related material. It’s a reminder that this is still a thing that is actually happening, a little pinch just to confirm I’m not actually just dreaming.
