A Halo game is headed to Steam next week, but it’s Spartan Assault

Well, shoot

How desperate does Microsoft think we are to play anything Halo on Steam? We’ll see if the company’s decision to bring Halo: Spartan Assault to the platform next week pays off, I suppose. This overhead dual-stick shooter will be out on PC next Friday, April 4 for $4.99.

As nice as it would be to see other (read: proper) Halo titles arrive on PC even all these years later, I have a difficult time seeing that happen. Microsoft’s been weird about PC gaming lately.

If you actually like the look of Spartan Assault, it’ll be reduced in price to $1.99 on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 from April 3 – 9, after which point it will increase to $4.99 to match Steam’s price.
