New cooking show makes videogame food a reality

Okay, are you guys ready for this? Jimmy Wong, the brother of SFX guru Freddie Wong, has conceived a new web series called Feast of Fiction, which takes foodstuffs from fictional media and prepares them for consumption. In this first episode, Jimmy and co-host Ashley Adams prepare the Sunlight Souffle from Skyrim using the recipe found in-game. It actually turns out pretty nicely!

I’m really excited for this show because, believe it or not, I had this same idea earlier in the year. I thought it would be great to do a cooking show focused on the dishes found in various videogames. Unfortunately, it never left the planning stages because (1) I can’t cook and (2) I lack any and all access to proper film equipment. I’ve shared my idea with a few guys on the staff, but it never seemed feasible.

Judging by the title of this new series, the scope probably extends beyond just videogames. Still, I’m happy knowing that someone somewhere with a similar idea to mine had the skills to make it all happen. I can’t wait to see what they’ll cook up next!
