Crytek has Crysis 3’s story worked out

Talking with CVG, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli says the studio has plans for Crysis 3, but only if we all rush out to buy Crysis 2 first.

“We definitely want to make Crysis 3,” he says. I’m not making a formal announcement. We’d like to make Crysis 3 but the second game needs to be successful first. I will mention that there is a plan for how the fiction of Crysis should roll out, but again, it depends on the success of Crysis 2.”

Well, yeah, that’s generally how sequels get made. More interesting to me was a quote where Yerli stated “if it sells anywhere near what Black Ops has, there may be more from Crysis.” If that’s the end goal, I’m afraid Crytek is setting itself up for disappointment.
