Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle en route to Android

Mere hours after our very own Tara Long lamented the sorry state of the Android App Store, PopCap has revealed that they are heeding the call.  PopCap’s Jeff Green uploaded to Twitter the above images of Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle running on an Android device. Green later revealed that the games will not be ad-supported.

Great news for me. Having just made the jump from a Blackberry to an Android phone, I’m ready for more quality games to be released on the platform. And there are few games which can convince me to cough up cash like Plants vs. Zombies. Hopefully, they’ll follow the trend of their other ports and add some exclusive modes or gameplay elements for the Android versions, though I suppose I would understand if they simply stuck to what worked on the iOS.
