There’s a Bleach PS3 game coming, here are pictures of it

What was once a blurry scan from an issue Shonen JUMP is now a series of slightly-less-blurry screenshots from a Sony product page.

Of course, I’m referring to Bleach: Soul Ignition, a new game based on everyone’s favorite superpowered-dudes-cutting-other-dudes weekly anime series. And as a treat for people who like graphics, this one’s destined for the PlayStation 3.

The burning question, then, is what type of game Soul Ignition will turn out to be. Judging from the screenshots (which show a lot of Ichigo, Rukia, and Uryuu), the gameplay seems more mobile than, say, the 2D duels of Heat the Soul, the seven-strong series of PSP fighters that make up the majority of recent Bleach games.

Bleach-drinkers, your prayers have been answered. There’s a Bleach game on HD consoles! That said, after playing a certain Naruto title, the bar for high-end anime-licensed games is set pretty high. Let’s hope Soul Ignition can meet (or surpass) that standard.

Expect the game sometime next year.
