If you’re still bummed that EA taunted you about being in the beta, then maybe you can gorge yourself on some of the universe’s lore to make things better. The official Star Wars: The Old Republic site has been updated today with a fancy new Galaxy Map, allowing you to explore the various planet and ships that will be in the upcoming MMO. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Mass Effect 2‘s planet scanning mini-game, except that it isn’t excruciatingly slow and now one is forcing it on you.

There is an overwhelming amount of information here for you to uncover as each planet has a description and accompanying factoids. Adding to this, there’s a video of each planet that shows what various locales will look like in-game when The Old Republic launches on December 20th of this year.
