NBA Jam for PS3 and Xbox 360 will be a retail release

Previously announced as a downloadable title for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, NBA Jam is now set to release on a standalone disc at retail for those platforms. Kotaku received confirmation from EA Sports earlier today, finally putting to rest all of those wishy washy comments.

It’s still unclear if these HD versions will be ready in time for the holidays (presumably, that’s the goal), or if they will contain the same functionality as — if not more than — the currently available Wii release of NBA Jam.
