Bit.Trip. FATE has a “for-real” release date now; Monday October 25th, 2010. It’s also gotten a price tag; 800 Wii Points. That’s the same price as Bit.Trip RUNNER, which was more than worth the money.
I think that FATE may go on to be my favorite game in the series. I was continually impressed with just how much personality and emotion that the developers packed managed into the shmup genre, without sacrificing any of the action. The only thing I can compare it to is the “humpin’ around” stage in R Type Final, except with even more going on.
The game’s creator says “BIT.TRIP FATE is like the Empire Strikes Back of the BIT.TRIP series. It’s a much darker episode in our hero’s life, and is full of depressing themes, dreary hidden messages, sad music, and an overall gloomy theme. Â YOU’LL LOVE IT!“Â
